Book Trails

This eight-volume set was designed to compete with My Book House back in the 1920s. It spends less time on nursery rhymes and gets right to the simple stories, but its style and purposes are the same. This is the first edition, published in 1928 by Shepard & Lawrence. Some stories may be considered politically incorrect today*, but I grew up to them and did not become a racist. Both these book sets have become highly valued for homeschooling, but these recordings are meant to be enjoyed at anytime—quiet playtime, bedtime, or while traveling. I’ve recorded only the first four volumes so far, with the help of Joseph Raney (little boy voices), and provided all the music.
