The Washoe Giant in San Francisco

In his late twenties Mark Twain (nicknamed “the Washoe Giant”) found work in California as a journalist, mainly for the San Francisco Morning Call and the Alta California, and began submitting humorous pieces to local literary magazines. Here is a collection of his work published in The Golden Era between 1863–66.
