The £1,000,000 Bank-Note and Other New Stories

First published in book form in 1893, Mark Twain’s short story about an American who becomes an experiment in human nature by two Englishmen, was filmed in 1954 as Man with a Million starring Gregory Peck. Among the short stories and essays in this collection, the piece called “The Enemy Conquered, or Love Triumphant” has been excluded, because it is the work of another author. Twain’s review of it exists in “A Cure for the Blues.”
