This one-hour program is made up of highlights from the early career of Robin Field as actor-singer-comedian-pianist-songwriter-entertainer. It includes some of his work in television (on “The Merv Griffin Show” as Dom DeLuise’s discovery; on ABC’s Wide World of Entertainment “Showcase” as Monty Hall’s discovery, on “Coming Attractions” as Soupy Sales’ discovery; on the 1970 ABC special “The Klowns” costarring Jerry Lewis and Sammy Davis, Jr.; on NBC’s “Hart to Hart” series, and a couple of commercials), in film (two Army Training films), and in concert (doing his grandfather’s vaudeville routine, a pantomime, and a medley of comedy songs).
